Safety is always a concern. The project provides guides and staff members to facilitate your work and help ensure safety. But people may still be concerned about safety since this is a new environment to them.
The following is extracted from a listing of country rankings in order of crime per capita.
Country & Ranking (1 is the highest crime rate)
Mexico: 6 (meaning sixth worst in world)
United States: 24
Canada: 44
Switzerland: 56
Dominican Republic: Greater than 62 (list stopped at 62)
The statistical level of serious crime in the Dominican Republic is much less than in the United States.
