School Project
Eighty-eight percent of children enroll in primary school education in the Dominican Republic. By the time they reach college age, only 33% continue on to study. The government spends a mere 1.3% of its Gross Domestic Product on education leaving it as the 162nd nation out of 168 in the world.
This year we reached out to over 400 children in 4 communities by delivering much needed school supplies to the villages in which we hold many of our medical clinics throughout the summer. Students were presented with an eraser, pencil sharpener, multiple pens and pencils, notebooks, crayons and coloring books.
Contributions come from construction and medical participants.
